Making money blogging is not a myth, it is a reality for many bloggers.
Many bloggers out there are making a living from their blogs and some have built very successful blogs and are able to generate millions out of blogging.
If you are considering to start a blog to make money, this article will tell you exactly how you can make money blogging.
Blogging for money is a business model that I very much believe in.
From a business perspective, starting a blog to make money online is a very low risk and high potential reward venture.
That is because blogging requires very low initial investment: All you need is a domain registration (I do not recommend free blog domains for business) and hosting, which cost as little as $2.95 with Bluehost and you are good to go!!! talk about low investment.
People will visit your site and read your posts. If they don’t like it they simply leave and there is no obligation on your side towards them.
Before I started my blogging journey, I did a lot of research on blogging.
I was looking for a venture that I could do from home and that would require very low initial investment and would have a high potential due to scalability.
Blogging seemed like the perfect match to all my requirements.
I came across all these amazing bloggers who were making millions of dollars from their blogs and it all seemed legit. I am talking about Michelle from makingsensofcents or Alex and Lauren from createandgo and many more.
I also came across other bloggers who were not making millions but were making a comfortable living from their blogs, some way more than my 9to5 job that I go after spending years of my life pursuing and a fortune getting a college degree.
That being said, millions or even a comfortable living from blogging does not come easily or overnight and there is a lot of work to be done before you can get there.
I think all successful bloggers went through that S*** phase where they had to put in a lot of work and did not see any results before a long time.
And honestly this is blogging in a nutshell.
The difference between successful bloggers and those who did not make it is that the former did not quit during the S*** phase.
The key point of making money blogging is to treat your blogging as a real Business venture. You have to have a vision of what your blog will look like when it is successful and a strategy to make that vision come true.
You should also know that it will require you to work very hard at the start and be patient before you can see any results, but trust me, it is all worth it.
Now let’s jump right at it, here are the top 5 ways to make money blogging.
The easiest way to start making money right away with blogging is through advertising. You apply to join an advertising program and once you get approved you can start showing advertising on your blog and get paid for it.
The most famous program and the one I recommend joining as a new blogger is Adsense by Google.
This program is really ideal for new bloggers as it does not have a minimum traffic requirement to get approved and in my experience, my blog was generating revenue from the first week of getting approved. I did not make a fortune from Adsense but I was able to cover my blogging experiences and a bit more.
2. Affiliate marketing
Affiliate marketing is my second favorite way of making money blogging because it is 100 % passive.
Affiliate marketing is essentially marketing products and services and getting a commission for any product or service sold through your marketing efforts.
When you have a blog, you can market some products and services on your blog posts by ways of placing links that will identify you as the marketer. If a purchase is made through these links, you receive a commission.
There are many affiliate marketing programs out there. I recommend starting with Amazon associates and Viglink as these are very popular affiliate programs that give you access to very broad range of products and services and most importantly they tend to access brand new blogs in my experience. Viglink also has the advantage of giving access to most of their merchants once you get approved by them when other affiliate programs require a 2-steps process to get approved and start promoting products, the first step being to get approved by the affiliate program and be in their platform and second being to apply to each brand/ company that you are interested in promoting products for.
Bog post is not the only place you can use to place these links, many bloggers use their blog social media accounts to place links or collect emails from people visiting their blog to send them emails containing these links ( also called email marketing)
3. Sell your e-products
This is considered the most profitable way to make money blogging because you get to keep all profits from the sales of your e-product.
I have not done this yet but as I started my blogging journey, I had in mind that creating and selling my own e-product as a long term strategy to have a high income producing blog.
Your e-product can be an e-book, or a course on a subject you have an expertise in.
You can use your blog as a platform to promote your coaching service or any other service you have to offer.
Your blog is a great way to reach your potential customers/ clients who would not hear about you otherwise
Blogging will first help you get found via Search engines and save money from advertising your business.
You can also use blogging to educate potential customers on questions closely related to your products and services and help you get seen as a trusted player or even an authority in the subject. These people will be more likely to purchase from you as you have already build a reputation and a relationship with them.
5. Sponsored posts
I have not personally made money through sponsored posts but I know a lot of bloggers do.
This is essentially a service you offer to a business to write an article on your blog at their request, it could be a product review or it could be an article that addresses a problem and refers to your client’s products or services as a solution to the problem for example.
And it is not my favorite because it remains somehow selling your time for money as you get paid for a one delivery of a blog post. You don’t really get the benefit of scalability of that delivery.
